My husband and I both enjoyed this dish. I'm Keto but my husband isn't. I made a few changes: I used half -n-half instead of heavy cream (still Keto Friendly) and like others, I cooked the bacon ahead of time. I also baked it about 20 minutes and then added the bacon and cheese on top, rather than inside the casserole. I served it with traditional hamburger toppings on the side. It was lovely and will definitely make again.

Definitely will make again! I realized halfway through that, although I made "this dish" before, I had gotten the recipe from Buns in the Oven, which called for a few additional ingredients. So I altered this recipe by adding a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tbs of ketchup, 1 1/2 tbs of mustard and about 3 oz of cream cheese from BITO's recipe since my family and I enjoyed it so much. I also used the chopped garlic in a jar equivalent of the garlic cloves and sauteed diced onions in lieu of onion powder. I also cooked my bacon before adding it to avoid extra grease. It came out delicious! I baked @ 375° for 30 minutes (the recipe doesn't list a degree for baking so I got that from the comments section here). Absolutely a favorite dish...one I'll happily make again. It's such a great meal Keto followers won't feel deprived in the least!

This is delicious! Couple of tips (don't think the enter button is on your iPhone keyboard! It's "done" I posted two accidental reviews!) serve it with sour cream and Tabasco on top. It's so delicious that way and still low carb. Season up the meat the way you like it too. I used a bunch of chili powder with the rest of the spices. For first time cooks, don't forget to COOK THE BACON first. I cook mine on a THIN cookie sheet with aluminum foil on top in the middle rack of the oven at 350 for 20 minutes. It usually comes out incredible. Do NOT use a thick baking sheet. It will burn the bacon. Do NOT put it on the bottom rack. It will burn the bacon. Middle or top rack for 20 minutes and check on it often. Careful removing it from the oven as you will have plenty of grease in the cookie sheet.

Very good with some changes based on other reviews and my preferences. First, it's just me here so I essentially cut recipe in half. I used 3 large cloves of minced garlic and a medium chopped onion, all cooked with the beef. Added a bit of chili powder, ground cayenne pepper and a dash of Worcestershire. I used 2-3 TBS bacon grease to brown beef and drained it thoroughly when done. I also cooked chopped bacon separately until really crisp and drained thoroughly on paper towels. Poured into casserole dish sprayed with PAM, added bacon. Used about 1/4 of an 8 oz brick of Philly Cream Cheese, pinching off small pieces and "poking" into the beef mixture. Used 3 large eggs with cream, added some Monterey Jack to my Cheddar cheese. Poured over per directions, topped with cheese mixture, baked. This is a great recipe - can be modified to suit your individual preferences. May try with half beef/ half breakfast sausage next time. Nothing greasy about mine but I did drain everything really well. This will be one of my "regulars" - good, easy, cheap. What's not to like? :)

I added green chili's and fresh mushrooms on top of meat and before the eggs, very good
11/05/2018
I cooked the bacon first as I was worried about all the grease. It's not bad; breakfast for dinner is OK sometimes.

This recipe needs some serious help. ADD SEASONING. Double the amount of garlic, or even better, triple it. Add salt, cayenne pepper, chili powder and some paprika. I also added green chilis and onion to the hamburger while cooking and it still could have used more flavor. I fried the bacon before mixing it with the meat...nobody like limp bacon...nobody. I used Mexican cheese and sharp Cheddar. 3 out of 4 people liked this. Probably wont make again.

awesome! whole family loved it!

I took the advice on how to make this less greasy and it was still way too much. If you're into a very high fat, beefy, greasy casserole, this is it. I'm a sometimes Keto-girl and I cook daily, but there are better ways. No thanks, not a fan.

Looks good I used 2 and a half cups of cheddar and 1/2 pound of bacon(only because that's all I had). Also added some Cajun seasoning to the ground beef. Turned out pretty good. I'd make it again
06/02/2020
It was a little bland, I should have read the comments and added real onion and more spice options. Also agree to cook the bacon first, it was too greasy with it all mixed in.

I made this today for the family and it came out pretty good. everyone said they liked it. My husband really enjoyed it . I added pickles and also topped it with mustard & ketchup {yum}. looking forward to my leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

I've been doing Keto for not quite two years. I've had some hamburger in my freezer for quite a while. I was looking for a Keto recipe in which I could use the hamburger and came across this recipe. I happened to have all the ingredients on hand so I made it. Turned out well. It was reasonably tasty. It was good. I ate two big pieces and I'm sure I'll finish the rest. I cooked it in a steel baking pan. I cooked it for about 50 minutes. Didn't brown as nicely as in the picture accompanying this recipe. I didn't think it was too greasy. I browned the hamburger and drained the grease and cooked the bacon beforehand and blotted off the grease with a paper towel. I also chopped up an onion and browned it with the hamburger. Next time I make it i might throw in some chopped green or red peppers and some mushrooms as well.

It was delicious! I only used 6 eggs instead of 8 and used 3 pounds of ground beef instead of 2. Simple and delicious!
02/17/2020
The flavor was good. I will make again, but will also cook the bacon ahead of time to eliminate grease.
05/26/2019
I have to be completely honest, I have made this dish 2x already. Why. Because I forgot how bad it was. It's so dry and no flavor whatsoever ! BUT WHEN YOU LOOK @ the ingredients, you think, yes! This could be good. That's why I was duped the second time around. Ingredients are great, SEPARATELY. It is COMPLETELY DRY AND BLAND TOGETHER. BUT A + on ingredients. It sounds great !

added cream cheese and only used three eggs. baked it at 375 for about 30 mins.

I liked this recipe very much. It was easy to put together. But at one point the recipe seemed to indicate to put the bacon in the ground beef & another it seemed not to. I am a real fan of green bell pepper so I added 1/2c over the meat mixture. And as I was putting it in my dish I ended up with all the cheese on top. It seems like if some was in the ground beef/bacon mixture it would have been good. But of course, I didn't do that. I loved the cheesiness on top as I ate it. I am a widow, so I only made 1/2 the recipe & I cut mine in 8 pieces. That gives me 8 meals. I can eat it alone or with something else on the side. Mine didn't get as brown as yours & I regret not leaving it in long enough. I will surely make this again.

Would make this again so tasty so easy so good thanks
01/14/2020
I added just a bit more of cheese
01/03/2020
I cut the recipe in half and it was enough for my family of 3 plus leftovers.

This was delicious and Kids approved!

I made this for dinner and everyone loved it. I used 3lbs of meat and also added in the meat from 3 Italian sweet sausage links. I made sure to spice it up as some reviewers complained this was a bland dish. I used some taco seasoning, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, and Mrs. Dash tomato/basil. Also added a splash of Worcestershire Sauce. I found I needed 9 eggs because my eggs looked somewhat small. The end result was absolutely delicious. There was a little bit left for breakfast and my daughter said it was "outrageous". It can be made in advance and reheated without a problem.

Great keto option. I served over shredded lettuce.
11/10/2018
On the Keto diet, this is good! (:
12/18/2019
Very tasty. I used a 50/50 mix of good country sausage and ground beef. Super easy and it came out scrumptious!
09/18/2020
I made this last night and everyone loved it... I added pickles and diced tomatoes. Absolutely delicious!!!
01/14/2020
Needs veggies in it
07/02/2020
This was a big hit with my family. I'm the only keto dieter, but my family of five all loved it.
02/18/2022
Excellent! Easy, fast, and absolutely yummy. My family loves this recipe!
02/15/2022
I didn't use heavy cream - just milk and I added Mrs Dash to the egg mixture. I halved it since there's only 3 of us - used 5 eggs - and it was great!! Might be good with breakfast sausage for breakfast! Like Crustless Bacon Cheeseburger Quiche!!!

For all of you that can't read the recipe, it says to COOK the bacon. I followed this recipe exactly, other than using extra clove of garlic, and it was delicious. My whole family loved it. I am making it again tonight and will use fresh onion rather than the powder and add more garlic, but it was delicious. And it tells you what the temperature on the oven needs to be...350.
03/22/2021
It was great with a few modifications; I used Greek Plain yogurt in place of heavy cream, taco blend cheese and mozzarella, 1 can of mixed vegetables and I sprinkled Goya Adobo seasoning to kick it up a bit. Next time will add fresh peppers & onions. Thank you for this recipe.
04/03/2019
I reduced the cream to only 1/2 cup because of prior experience, however the eggs mixture did not cover the whole casserole and I ended up adding 4 more eggs and 1/4 cup more of cream along with more cheese.(my bad) I also precooked the bacon. Otherwise, I feel it was bland as stated when I make it again I will use much more seasoning
06/19/2020
I love this recipe
01/21/2019
Excellent! I made it as a main dish, layered as lasagna and added a little oregano and parsley flakes.
09/12/2019
Simple and easy to make.....
04/15/2020
Very easy and simple. This recipe is a lot for a family of 4. Plenty of leftovers.
05/25/2020
this was too greasy for me. Even after cooking the bacon ahead of time and draining, as well as the beef. I needed to add more salt and added some hot sauce to spruce it up. Sorry
02/22/2019
I've made this twice. The first time I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious!! The second time I cut the ingredients in half and put it in a casserole dish. For some reason it didn't turn out nearly as good.
12/11/2018
I made it, added green peppers and onions to the hambuger meat. Cooked 15 mins in a 375 degree oven. Also left out the whipping cream, to make it firmer.
04/08/2022
I was excited to try this but was disappointed in the end result. I made it exactly as written this first time. While the texture was fine, the flavor was lacking something... I ate mine with a bit of sriracha taco sauce to add flavor. That helped but it still lacked something. If I made this again, I'd add jalepeno peppers or chili peppers or something. As is, it's too expensive to buy heavy cream for a recipe that's blah. FYI: my husband liked it with butter and/or sour cream.

This dish was awesome, although I will admit to making quite a few changes! First, I took other's advice and cooked the bacon first. Then I cooked the ground beef and added to it a whole diced onion, a diced red bell pepper and a half of green bell pepper (its what I had in the fridge), a diced whole poblano pepper and a small diced jalapeno and 6-8 sliced mushrooms. Then I added 2 packets of taco seasoning and a cup of water (according to the taco seasoning directions). Then I continued with the recipe from there. I also added the cheese on top of the ground beef mixture that was put into the casserole dish and added the eggs to that and topped it with the cooked bacon and added a more cheese to top. I added whole milk rather than cream to the eggs. It was very flavorful and very low carb! Also note that it took almost 40 minutes to bake this and my oven runs a little hot, so it tends to cook things faster than most recipes call for. I took it out once at 25 min. and it was a little liquidy in the middle, so I put it back in, checking it every 5 minutes or so. Hope that helps! I will definitely make this again! :)

I put bacon and cheese on top too.

So good yet sooooo easy to make amazing quick dinner idea that blows taste buds away!

Delicious
09/25/2019
This cheeseburger casserole was delicious! I added Worcestershire sauce to the beef while sauteing. I also added cream cheese to the egg/cheese mixture and blended until the cream cheese was in small chunks. This gave an excellent burst of cream cheese in every bite once cooked. I highly recommend! It's an excellent option for breakfast and reheats really well. Overall, this was really quick and easy and I will definitely remake!

It is amazing

I don't really have complaints - the recipe is fine. It could just use some spicing up, at least for our tastes. I added some mushrooms and onion - and glad I did. Would add more next time. Montreal steak seasoning is something else I'll mix in - just like when I grill burgers. A couple of notes about the instructions: No oven temp was listed. I did mine at 350° and that seemed about right. I might bump it to 375°. Also - absolutely cook the bacon in advance. That's not mentioned, but this would be really greasy and I'm not sure the bacon would be done otherwise. I did mine in the oven and it softened up after baking it more in the casserole .
03/28/2022
I added onions, smoked paprika and mushrooms. It was very delicious.
10/24/2020
This was a very easy recipe and absolutely delicious. Perfect keto meal.
11/25/2019
Easy to make and enough for lunches for the week!
01/22/2020
This was easy to make, and looked phenomenal when it came out of the over, but it tasted pretty meh. My family is doing low carb, and I know fat is not supposed to be an issue, but the saturated fat content (ground beef + bacon + cheese + heavy cream) is off the charts here and just seems unhealthy. The whole casserole was eaten and everyone said it was "good," but it would have had to be really awesome for me to make again.
06/18/2019
First day on keto...I think I like this diet. This meal was amazing, and I have enough for lunch at work for the next couple of days.
12/28/2019
only thing i added to it was i got a bag of frozen peppers and onions and cooked them then drained them put them in the pan along with the other items and cooked it turned out really yummy i am on my second big bowl already
10/15/2019
Precook the bacon before adding it to the cooked ground beef! Otherwise, your casserole will be swimming in grease. Very tasty! Will definitely make this again.
07/01/2019
I forgot garlic gloves at the store and just use garlic salt, tasted great tp me.
10/10/2018
I added fresh chopped white onions and sliced mushrooms before adding the egg mixture then added the remaining cheese. Ate for dinner and it was pretty good. This seems more like a breakfast dish though and is excellent reheated for breakfast as well!
08/10/2019
I used 8 eggs like the recipe calls for, but it was too much. It came out as scrambled eggs on top. Next time I'm only using 4 or 5 eggs.
05/04/2022
I really liked the dish but I am considering adding some extra bacon next time .
12/13/2019
I made this and the only thing I would do differently eouldne to cook the bacon all the way through. I like crunchy bacon.
10/23/2020
I thought this was pretty good. I cooked the bacon ahead of time, and cut the recipe in half. I used a smaller round casserole pan and that was perfect for cutting the recipe. I think next time I will add some more spices to this recipe, and maybe add some softened cream cheese into it as well. I put a good sized spoonful of sour cream on top when I tried it for the first time so that made it taste even better IMO. It was pretty easy so I will probably make it again with those changes I think it needs.
